DESCRIPTION The East Building is part of the National Gallery of Art Complex in Washington, DC, USA. The building, originally from the 1970s, underwent a whole renovation that included the removal and re-installation of the 3-inch marble veneer that began in early March 2011 as part of a renovation plan that started in 1999 in the West Building. Anodized aluminum anchors replaced the original stainless steel ones, while new colored silicone gaskets were installed replacing the original neoprene joints.
