The Time-life building, also known as 1271 Sixth Avenue, opened in 1959. Constructed for the Time-Life publishing company, the building was the first in the Rockefeller Center Extension across Sixth Avenue from the original Center. A reclad of the facade is planned for the next years including a whole curtainwall replacement and customized storefront.
